BIM replaces traditional two dimensional drawings with a complete three dimensional, data-driven model of the structure. All the relevant information, including models, estimates, etc., are stored in one place and shared from there. BIM is also able to predict potential construction hazards and clashes, and prevent them by adjusting the design.
