100,000 m² for the online retail giant Amazon

This is the size of the new logistics center of online retail giant, Amazon, built in Magdeburg, Germany, using the Astron building solutions. The warehouse section includes a storage space of impressive dimensions.

This building has a length of 500 meters and a gutter height of 14 meters with multiple spans of 24 meters.

In this project, it was imperative to have the optimal storage capacity for the racking of products and to optimize the supply chain management (SCM). 12 meters height of the steel frame of the building are used for the storage of goods, the remaining 2 meters are used for the ductwork and the installation of the sprinkler system. The requirements were strict in terms of timeframe for a project of this magnitude.

Astron found the technical and logistical solutions to satisfy the online retail giant: the delivery of modules to the construction site was optimally organized, according to a precise schedule, to allow the different assembly teams to work simultaneously at a fast pace. All commitments were honored, and the budget respected as requested by the client.
