Three buildings in one project
The new Geberit plant in the Slovenian town of Ruše is a state-of-the-art and extremely ecological masterpiece, which features sophisticated processes, environmentally friendly materials and an exceptional energy concept that ensure sustainable production.
This project consists of three Astron buildings: an 8,400 m² industry hall, a 5,000 m² warehouse and a 2,260 m² office building.
It was realised for GEBERIT, the European market leader in sanitary technology, who wanted to expand its production and logistics capacity.
This investment aims at broadening the site possibilities via a complete range of Astron products. The industry hall is fully operational and significantly increases the company’s European production capacity.
Space galore
The state-of-the-art factory building, if required, can be enlarged in stages up to 7,000 m2. 230 employees are involved in the manufacture of Geberit Silent-PP fittings, the assembly of fill and flush valves and the operation of the injection moulding machines used to manufacture exposed cisterns. In addition to production, the spacious plant is also home to offices, training facilities and logistics.
Promising energy concept
Ruše has a meticulously designed energy concept that enables ecologically sound operation. For example, the waste heat from machinery is used to heat the entire building, and the plant operates entirely without fossil fuels. While the ground water is used for cooling, the collected rainwater can be used for the sanitary facilities.
