Headquarters expanded to over 6,000 m²

M.R. Schneider GmbH is one of the leading companies in the production of sugar sachets and sugar sticks. In 2021, the company from Neuenbürg expanded its headquarters to over 6,000 m². This is already the third company expansion after 2002 and 2012.

The challenge in planning and building was the floor plan of the steel hall, which was dictated by the plot of land. The spans range between 13.7 m and 26.4 m. The length of the building is about 64 m. Another major task was the installation of a mezzanine of 1,150 m², which extends over almost the entire length of the building, with a live load of 1 to/m².

The roof system used is the Astron LPR1000 roof system with 120 mm insulation and the wall system is the LPA900 wall system with 100 mm insulation and interior wall cladding. A supporting wall, 3 m high, had to be erected so that the steel building is 10 m high towards the street. For fire safety reasons, 11 skylights of 3 x 8 m are installed in the roof. This is almost a quarter of the total roof area.

As in 2012, the extension of the headquarters of M.R. Schneider was realized within a few months by Astron’s builder dealer Baukonzept 2000. The turnkey planning came from Ingenieurgruppe Iserloh in Karlsruhe, and the fire protection concept from CE Consult in Schwäbisch Hall.
